  Why has nobody reviewed this place yet?!? It is freaking AWESOME! It was counter to my expectations in almost every way. First off, I expected a landfill to smell bad. Not even close. I also imagined it to be an eyesore. Again, nope. It is kind of an engineering marvel, and a heck of a good time. If you're dropping off household hazardous materials, there is a special building for that, which is wonderful, but the real magic is the Manual Dropoff area. Imagine driving onto compost, backing your minivan up, and letting 100 pounds of gross carpeting just roll out of your life, as a collection of giant Truck Beasts mash the ever-loving crap out of unwanted and irretrievable items. I believe some kind of magical compost is created. And the prices, so reasonable. Over a hundred pounds of carpeting only cost me $12.00 to dump. And man, it was satisfying.

  Had a large amount of sod to get rid of. The website said no sod at Badger Rd, Sycamore ave, or South point road locations, large amounts need to be taken directly to 7102 hwy 12. Got there, the (rather cantankerous) guy there said they don't take sod. Still have a large amount of sod to get rid of.

  It's a great facility but if you visit anyone living on County AB, adjacent to the dump, the smell is sickening. To top that off....all those big black birds that frequent the dump for their meals, crap up a storm, covering everything in sight....mostly my car. Getting back to the smell.....it gets so bad that it actually makes you ill...upset stomach, etc.. If you don't believe me hang out over by the park on a warm day. Maybe with the new Dane County facility going in on County AB and Highway 12 someone will take notice and make the necessary changes.

  This place stinks so bad!!! I live about 6 miles from there and you can smell the stink from way over there! You cant even have your windows open in the summer. I just moved into the neighborhood and I wont be here long for this reason. What the hell is it doing to the environment? Ground water? Air pollution? Someone should be doing some testing!
